Missions

At Flushing United Methodist Church we recognize the incredible needs of our world and so we’re committed to making a difference. We provide ongoing opportunities for mission support through both financial giving and hands on mission work, both around town and around the world.

Acts 1:8

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

This is evident by the fact that we continue to be a Spotlight Church year after year.  To be a Spotlight Church 100% of apportionments need to be paid.  The church must be involved in world projects, national projects, UMCOR projects, World Hunger projects, Ministry Jubilee projects, and conference covenant partnerships of Haiti and Liberia. We also go on mission trips to places that need our help.  There are a multitude of opportunities to serve in missions and we would like you to help transform our community.

Our Ugli Quilt Program  is responsible for helping keep many people warm by making blankets out of discarded materials.

Through our “Assist Day” funds we’re able to help people in our own community and our own congregation find desperately needed help. Through our support of United Methodist apportionments we’ve helped support missionary work literally around the globe. We encourage you to roll up your sleeves and join in our very rewarding missions ministry.
